A modern international curriculum based on the UK model
We are a British-style international school following an English curriculum carefully adapted to meet the needs of a diverse student body.
Our core curriculum is the English National Curriculum. The EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum) is used for the 3 to 5 year olds, and the Primary Curriculum for Years 1 to 6.
All students also study Arabic Language, Islamic Studies and Qatar History.
See below for more details on each of these elements of our curriculum.
Structure of Year Groups
As a Primary School, our children range in age from 3 to 11 years of age.
The norm for UK National Curriculum schools is to group classes into Early Years, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. However, because we use the IPC curriculum we choose to use their naming convention of Mileposts, which is slightly different:
|Milepost||Age||Year group||Equivalent Key Stage|
|Foundation Stage||3 - 4||FS1||Early Years|
|Foundation Stage||4 - 5||FS2||Early Years|
|Milepost 1||5 - 6||Year 1||Key Stage 1|
|Milepost 1||6 - 7||Year 2||Key Stage 1|
|Milepost 2||7 - 8||Year 3||Key Stage 2|
|Milepost 2||8 - 9||Year 4||Key Stage 2|
|Milepost 3||9 - 10||Year 5||Key Stage 2|
|Milepost 3||10 - 11||Year 6||Key Stage 2|
